What that encompasses

Strategic, Financial, and Operational Goals –  Business owners often do not clearly determine their strategic goals and objectives. We help business owners and executive management teams do just that. We ask questions and we listen. Through this process we help you understand what you want to achieve and why. We then help businesses translate those goals into the appropriate financial and operational components and further help determine what  groups/departments/divisions/functions within the company are wholly or partially responsible.

Strong Sales and Customer Service – Business owners often focus on top line items such as gross revenue and sales. Sometimes companies are so focused on driving revenue they consider all customers good customers. We help clients determine who is their optimal customer and why, then determine how best to access them and serve them. This helps clients increase sales and customer satisfaction and customer retention. This process also often helps increase employee satisfaction.

Net Profit – Business owners sometimes focus on sales numbers and growing their customer base to the detriment of profit margins. We help businesses assess their performance by customer, products, and services to obtain the information necessary to create and implement changes that support the owners / shareholders’  goal achievement.

Relationships – In tandem with improving the industry, sales, and operational positioning of the company as above, we help you build and strengthen your relationships with your company’s stakeholders. These include your Strategic Advisory Board or Board of Directors, your investors and shareholders, your employees, your banking and other financial relationships, your customers, and your suppliers.

Acquisitions – We help you determine if acquisitions is a useful strategy for the growth of your company. If it is, we work with you to identify the best acquisition targets from a strategic and financial perspective, then help you pursue and negotiate with those targets. We also help you with integrating the acquisition once the purchase closes.

Sale or Exit – We work with companies to build the infrastructure and strengthen their companies for an eventual exit by the owner(s). We understand that most businesses are the owner’s babies but often the baby does not generate sufficient EBITDA or have the proper infrastructure or customer mix to support the owner’s idea of the company’s value. We work with the owner(s) to position the company so that the owner’s idea of the company’s value more closely matches that of the buyer, whether the eventual “buyer” will be an external acquiror, a member of the management team, or an heir.

Strategic Advisory Board – We sit on your Strategic Advisory Board or Board of Directors and interact with the other Board members to provide your company with the strategic insight it needs. If you do not have one, we can help you build one.

Ad Hoc – We help companies who need specific, short-term, in-depth services such as those involved in a transition or re-structuring. These more hands-on, site-based engagements may run from a few days to a few months.

We believe in partnering for a win-win. Our focus is on providing long-term strategic advisory to our clients. We engage  under a signed agreement on a short-term and project basis for specific, immediate issues such as those considered Ad Hoc services.  For everything else, including all long-term strategic advisory, we engage on an hourly billed basis. You can drastically reduce the frequency of engagement or sever the relationship anytime.
