Seeking Entrepreneurs for Venture Creation Program

I was looking at the Wharton alumni job board for a couple of friends and saw this posting. It’s for entrepreneurs – past, current, or wannabes but all definitely aspiring for the next big opportunity. Normally I don’t broadcast alumni opportunities but I believe in disseminating information that can help entrepreneurs and business owners achieve their goals.

Venture Creation Program

I’d like to invite you to apply for the next round of Runway, our pre-team, pre-idea venture creation program that empowers aspiring entrepreneurs to make the leap.

This is a great opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to create a multi-disciplinary team and fund their search to find the next big opportunity. You’ll join a tight-knit community of entrepreneurs based out of Innovation Endeavors, an early stage venture capital firm backed by Eric Schmidt.

I clicked on the 1st link (runway program) and here is additional information from the Runway site: “We empower extraordinary, aspiring entrepreneurs like you to launch your own company to tackle big problems. Runway is pre-team and pre-idea…We give you the financial cushion, connections, and coaching you need to take the entrepreneurial leap and succeed.”

If you have an existing business that you are deeply involved in, this is not for you. If you view yourself as a serial entrepreneur or believe you can be one , this is for you. If you continually think of great ideas to solve problems but have not known how to create a business around that, then this is for you. Or perhaps a friend or business associate matches this description. If so, pass it on. The deadline for the application is July 19, 2011. The program is based in the Silicon Valley area of northern California so you’d have to re-locate out there for 6 months if you aren’t already there. But if you are selected, it’s definitely worth it.

If you apply, and especially if you make the cut, please drop me a line. I’m pulling for you.
